Apple today announced Dan Riccio will transition to a new role focusing on a new project and reporting to CEO Tim Cook, building on more than two decades of innovation, service, and leadership at Apple. John Ternus will now lead Apple’s Hardware Engineering organization as a member of the executive team.
Apple moving Riccio to a “New Project” (think something that requires serious cross-deparmental hardware chops from chips to ID) and Ternus promoted to SVP of hardware.
Last time Riccio changed roles, it was the same day Apple announced Bob Mansfield was back and would work on “future projects”. Now it’s Riccio’s turn to get a mysterious new role at the company.
