Annotated Photo Edits ⇥ twitter.com

I have spent this afternoon looking through a bunch of edited photos compared to the annotated original. You may be familiar with this concept, but it is new to me and I love it. It is motivating and instructional to see how great photographers edit in post to get the image in their head.

Here are a handful that I stumbled across:

• Two from Emilie Hofferber — the one that started me on this obsession, via a friend in Slack, and another from her timeline. Hofferber pointed me to a couple of the photographers below.

• A field, old buildings, and mountains by Devin Levasseur, and also a forest.

• A cliffside town scene by Sid Mantri.

• A lightning bolt at the beach by Steven Nalls.

• In the same vein of RAW compared to edit, Cameron Reed posted a behind-the-scenes of an incredible image taken near LAX.

I love these process examples; I could do this all day long. I feel inspired.
