RSS.app is the ideal tool for the casual RSS user. The app is almost invisible: It is embedded in the status menu and uses Mountain Lions Notification Center to alert you of new posts.

I complained about the lack of interesting RSS reader concepts. This one is great for low-frequency feeds, like this site’s, for instance.
