The New York Times decided to copy the numbers game from “Countdown” with its new Digits puzzle. Five math puzzles per day, with stars awarded based on how close you get to the target number. Fun and straightforward, but it is no Numberwang.

Update: The Times is shutting down Digits on August 8.
